IBM Canada – Enhancing Inclusion Through Critical Relationships and Cultural Awareness (Practices)
May 05, 2010With Enhancing Inclusion Through Critical Relationships and Cultural Awareness, IBM Canada supports diverse groups—including visible minorities and women—and leverages diversity. Two programs developed to enhance the quality of critical relationships in the workplace are Diversity Network Groups (DNGs) and Diversity Training for People Managers. There are nine DNGs at IBM Canada, and their events allow for a range of networking opportunities for diverse employees. All managers and project leaders are required to attend a diversity training program that explores the difference between simply recognizing diversity and leading with a full understanding of how inclusion can benefit the business.
Excerpts from this practice were published in 2009 in Building LGBT-Inclusive Workplaces: Engaging Organizations and Individuals in Change and Career Advancement in Corporate Canada: A Focus on Visible Minorities ~ Diversity & Inclusion Practices.
