You may have already been asked by your family, friends, or employer to change the way you approach and define gender. You may have been asked to seek our gender-neutral clothing or toys for a new infant in your life. Or your workplace may have instituted gender-neutral bathrooms. For some, this transition may be relatively straightforward. But for others, it can be challenging. Compounding these challenges oftentimes, is the sense of urgency that companies feel about addressing gender-related issues, creating the impression that managers and HR professionals should “get it” without having questions or making mistakes.
Join Catalyst’s Michael J. Chamberlain, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, for a discussion around the evolution of how we view gender in the workplace. In this live conversation with Ella Slade, Global LGBT+ Leader, Diversity & Inclusion at IBM, and Emily Joye “EJ” McGaughy, Facilitator and Trainer, we will discuss the evolving definitions of “gender”, as showcased in Catalyst’s recently released tool, What Is Gender, and explore the topic through academic and practitioner lenses, first-hand experiences, an tools designed to assist you in being a more inclusive leader.
Registration is complimentary for employees of Catalyst Supporter organizations. Not sure if your employer is a Catalyst Supporter? Check our Supporter List.
