Catalyst research has found that many Asian, Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and multiracial employees experience an emotional tax—which is the combination of feeling different from peers at work because of gender, race, and/or ethnicity, being on guard against experiences of bias, and the associated effects on health, well-being, and ability to thrive at work.
Racism and racial bias is a common phenomenon no matter where you may live, including Canada. Join this roundtable as we share personal experiences, discuss research on racism in Canada, and outline ways that each of us can combat racism by addressing assumptions, stereotypes, and structural inequities in our workplaces and communities.
