“With new technologies coming into the workplace, it’s critical teams are thinking about diversity and inclusion to ensure we don’t bake bias into products,” Lorraine Hariton, Catalyst President and CEO, at the Catalyst 2019 Awards Conference.
With breakthrough technologies, social movements, globalisation, polarising politics, and the #MeToo movement, diverse and inclusive workplace cultures are more important than ever. Companies and leaders must ensure their organisation uses all their diverse talent to remain innovative and competitive now, and in years to come. Policies and promises aren’t enough; there needs to be bold, meaningful action to create a future where women are just as successful as men.
Organisations know that to succeed in the future, they must have an understanding of upcoming trends. Through our work with our global supporter organisations, we identify shifts in workforces, workplaces, and women at work. What are the hot topics? What are the emerging practices for creating inclusion? Join us for a discussion of how these trends will affect workplaces and what organisations can do prepare for these changes.
In this roundtable session we will address areas such as:
- How companies struggling to meet the demand for employees with technical, interpersonal, and leadership skills can increase their odds of recruiting qualified talent by creating workplaces where a balance of skill sets and diverse experiences are equally valued and maximised;
- Adapting the workforce for 21st century job skill requirements such as agility, creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking;
- Addressing stereotypes and myths about generations to ensure that all employees, regardless of age and stage, feel included, see eye-to-eye, and can work hand-in-hand;
- Recognising and valuing employees’ intersecting identities.
The discussion will be facilitated by Allyson Zimmermann, Executive Director at Catalyst Europe, and Caroline Pickard, Catalyst Ambassador in the Netherlands.
We invite executives, HR leaders, diversity and inclusion practitioners, and champions of inclusion from all parts of your business to attend. Most importantly, we need men, who still hold the vast majority of positions of power, to become active champions of workplace inclusion, and we highly encourage our female guests to bring along a male colleague.
Registration is complimentary for Catalyst Supporters, and with limited space we recommend early registration.
We’d like to thank our host, United Airlines, for their generous support of this event.
