Intersectionality, Emotional Tax, and the Role of the Inclusive Leader
October 8, 2019 9:00 am EDT — October 8, 2019 11:00 am EDT
This event has ended.
Please join BMO Harris Bank and Catalyst for a critical conversation on the topic of Intersectionality, Emotional Tax, and the role of the Inclusive Leader in today’s most innovative workplaces.
Emotional tax, first described by Catalyst in 2016, is the combination of feeling different from peers at work because of gender, race and/or ethnicity, being on guard for experiences of bias, and the associated effects on health, well-being, and the ability to thrive at work.
Catalyst expert Dnika J. Travis, PhD, will kick off this important event with a keynote presentation on recent research findings specific to the experiences of people of color and other non-majority employee groups in the workplace. She will also share insights into what each employee can do to create more inclusive workplace cultures where ALL employees are valued equitably and enabled to contribute to their full potential. Following the presentation will be an engaging dialogue with inclusive executives from several organizations.
