Catalyst Builds Out its Leadership Team to Expand How it Helps Companies Advance and Accelerate Women in Business (Media Release)June 13, 2017
New York City, N.Y. (June 13, 2017)—Catalyst announced today changes to its executive leadership team to further drive the organization’s mission impact and provide even more services to the companies it partners with, in order to spur positive changes for women at work.
“There are consulting firms. There are diversity and inclusion experts. There are research think tanks. There are organization and culture experts. But Catalyst is the only organization where you can get all of this expertise in one place—focused entirely on advancing women in the workplace,” said Deborah Gillis, President and CEO, Catalyst. “We specialize in turning research into actionable insights and providing seamless end-to-end solutions that simultaneously drive change at the individual, team, and organizational culture levels. The changes we are making in our leadership team are designed to help drive even more impact with our tools, training, consulting services, and thought leadership.”
- Catherine Corley—who had been Senior Vice President, Global Operations since January 2015—is moving into a newly created role as the Senior Vice President, Learning Products and Programs. She now leads strategy development and brand management of learning programs and products, including the MARC (Men Advocating Real Change) initiative and CatalystX. Corley brings more than 20 years of corporate experience to Catalyst, including executive roles at Walmart, Inc. and Tyson Foods, Inc. She has a BSBA in accounting from the University of Arkansas and an MBA from the University of Memphis.
- Margaret Kashmir was appointed Senior Vice President, Communications in January 2017. In this newly created role, she is responsible for telling Catalyst’s story to the world and helping to translate the organization’s research into insightful and practical thought leadership. Kashmir is a former journalist who worked at two of Canada’s national broadcast networks and later served as a corporate storyteller and strategic communications leader for several public and private sector companies. In 2010, she was chosen as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 business leaders. Kashmir studied French at Université Sainte-Anne, law and journalism at Carleton University, and business at Harvard Business School.
- Brande Stellings—who had been Catalyst’s Vice President, Corporate Board Services since 2013—is being promoted to Senior Vice President, Advisory Services (AS). In this new role, she leads AS—a new department and home to Catalyst’s consulting services group as well as its corporate board services—which works closely with companies to accelerate the advancement of women through the pipeline to leadership and the boardroom. AS offers clients the “complete package” in consulting, based on Catalyst’s cutting-edge research and the proven solutions evidenced by Catalyst Award-winning initiatives. Earlier in her career, Stellings practiced law at NBC Universal Inc., where she served as Vice President, Litigation, and at Cravath, Swaine & Moore as a litigation associate. Stellings received her JD cum laude from Harvard Law School and graduated magna cum laude from Yale College. Stellings is an avid traveler and has visited more than 30 countries.
