Samantha “Sam” Nelson is the Director of Development & Expert Community, leading stewardship efforts and creating valued experiences for Catalyst’s highest-level donors and supporters.

Prior to joining Catalyst, Sam supported internal operations, event facilitation, and administration of education and development departments at fine arts museums such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Sam holds a BA in history and art history from Santa Clara University and an MS in nonprofit management from Columbia University, with a concentration in fundraising. She lives in New York City.
