Emily B. Zuckerman leads the Legal and Compliance functions for Catalyst’s US headquarters and its global affiliates, and acts as senior business partner to leadership on operating and strategic issues. She also leads Catalyst’s Frontline Employee Initiative and has served on the Catalyst Award Evaluation Committee, Work-life Effectiveness Issue Specialty Team, and as a content creator for the edX MOOC, Inclusive Leadership Training: Effective Communication.
Prior to joining Catalyst, Emily practiced labor and employment, commercial, and corporate law, and taught undergraduate courses in legal and U.S. history. She earned a PhD in women’s, legal, labor, and modern U.S. history from Rutgers University, a JD cum laude from George Washington University, and a BA with honors in History from Northwestern University.
Outside of Catalyst, Emily serves on the Non-Profit Organizations Committee for the New York City Bar and as a Board Member for RiverArts, a non-profit arts organization. Emily has written extensively on the history of social movements, civil rights policy, second-wave feminism, discrimination, and work-life balance. She presents to business and academic audiences such as the Association of Corporate Counsel’s NYC Women’s Group and the American Society for Legal History.
