February is Black History Month in the US and Canada, a time to focus on the wide-ranging contributions that Black people have made to society. Organizations spotlight achievements in fields like science, academia, and politics through programming such as speakers and exhibitions. It is also a time to recognize the racism and inequities Black people have overcome and still face today.
