TD: Forever Proud. Forever Progressing. (Practices)

Every June, many organizations across the world participate in Pride Month celebrations, honoring 2SLGBTQ+ rights and proclaiming their values of inclusion. But the recognition of equity-deserving groups is not confined to one time of the year; barriers to inclusion persist daily. How can organizations sustain their support for 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion beyond Pride Month and embed it in their culture?

TD Bank Group (the Bank) offers a path forward. The Toronto-headquartered global bank has a decades-long history of investing in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). In 2012, Catalyst highlighted the company’s multi-pronged strategic approach to supporting and building an inclusive workplace for 2SLGBTQ+ colleagues. Now, over a decade later, the Bank’s work has expanded to a global initiative that centers on showing up for the 2SLGBTQ+ community every day by delivering a comprehensive suite of programs, benefits, support systems, and accountability mechanisms. This approach recognizes and addresses barriers to inclusion for the intersecting identities of those within the 2SLGBTQ+ community and creates a positive impact for the bank’s internal and external stakeholders.
