SUMMARY:Intersectionality: Creating Workplaces that Work for All Women
DESCRIPTION:15:00 – 16:00 Gulf Standard Time (GST) \nFor employees to thrive within their workplace\, they must feel psychologically safe or comfortable bringing their full authentic self without fear of being mistreated or penalized for making mistakes. People are a combination of their gender\, race\, nationality\, age\, ability and sexual orientation\, and it is the combination of these\, that informs their perspectives and experiences. When companies fail to acknowledge intersectional identities in the workplace\, they dismiss a part of a person’s identity\, which informs their experiences. \nCatalyst’s research found that 90% of women of colour or women from underrepresented racial or ethnic groups want to be leaders with influence\, hold intellectually stimulating jobs and advance to higher positions\, yet almost 60% said they experienced an “emotional tax” in the workplace. This means they are ‘on guard’\, bracing themselves for potential acts of bias or discrimination. People across intersections of race\, ethnicity\, gender\, and other aspects of identity are also vulnerable to these risks. \nJoin us for a conversation about intersectionality and the impacts of Emotional Tax with Rukmini Iyer from Inclusion Partners and Rikia Birindelli-Fayne from Catalyst. During this session\, you will expand your awareness and we will discuss strategies to bring an intersectional lens to workplace policies and practices. \nWe invite HR leaders\, diversity and inclusion practitioners\, and champions of inclusion from other parts of your business. Registration is complimentary but mandatory. \nInclusion Partners and Catalyst have partnered to bring relevant and timely diversity\, equity and inclusion resources to companies across the Middle East.

SUMMARY:Webinar: LGBTQ+ in the Workplace: Belonging and Psychological Safety
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will be hosted in the following time zones: \n11:00AM – 12:00PM PST  |  2:00PM – 3:00PM EST  |  7:00PM – 8:00PM GMT \n\nBelongingness is a key element to ensuring someone’s psychological safety at work. This is true for all employees\, but especially true for marginalized groups such as those who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. However\, nearly two-thirds (59%) of non-LGBTQ+ employees believe it is “unprofessional” to discuss sexual orientation or gender identity in the workplace. Inclusive leadership begins with recognizing and valuing all aspects of identity. Join us to learn how inclusive leaders can create environments where all employees can thrive. \n  \nWebinar topics\, descriptions\, dates and times are subject to change.
