This Catalyst research shows that when men engage in gender equity efforts, organizations benefit from stronger teams and more connected and empathic cultures. But the advantages don’t stop there. Men also benefit directly: we found that those who participate in activities such as gender-focused ERGs and gender equity trainings aren’t just supporting others — they report meaningfully better workplace experiences, including:
- Higher levels of inclusion.
- Stronger team relationships.
- A deeper sense of connection at work.
This is an opportunity for organizations to strengthen culture while also improving men’s day-to-day experiences at work — especially at a time when many men report feeling disconnected. One powerful way to build connection and community while driving meaningful organizational change for everyone is gender partnership — where everyone shares responsibility for building an equitable, inclusive culture.
