Persons with disabilities face barriers every day that may prevent them from accessing the necessary resources to reach their full potential both in and outside of the workplace. Barriers related to both visible and invisible disabilities can make individuals feel excluded—and defined—by their disability.
Join Vandana Juneja, Senior Director, Catalyst, for our first webinar in recognition of the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Marked around the world annually on December 3, this day promotes awareness and mobilizes support for critical issues pertaining to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in society and development. The 2016 theme is “achieving 17 goals for the future we want,” drawing attention to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals to create a more inclusive and equitable world for persons with disabilities.
During this webinar, we will explore how individuals and organizations are creating change and driving impact through workplace inclusion. We will discuss how inclusive environments are created, including the importance of valuing individuals for their uniqueness (difference) and belongingness (sameness or commonalities) to ensure they feel included at work and beyond. We will also look at the key behaviors we can all intentionally practice to create more inclusive environments.
