Employee resource groups (ERGs)—also known as business resource groups or affinity groups—can be found in many organizations. A recent Catalyst survey of member organizations found that over 80% have at least one ERG. ERGs can have considerable impact on an organization’s ability to develop future leaders, increase employee engagement, and expand marketplace reach. ERGs also create opportunities to build cultural competence around inclusive leadership, which in turn allows companies to learn from and include diverse groups at work.
In anticipation of Catalyst’s annual Employee Resource Leadership Initiative (ERLI) conference taking place in Toronto in May 2016, we invite you to join Catalyst Canada's Vandana Juneja, Senior Director, and David Lau, Senior Associate, for a roundtable discussion to learn more about ERGs and Catalyst's ERLI which helps to engage and connect ERG leaders across companies. In this interactive session, we will present Catalyst research, tools, and resources available to ERG leaders; discuss leading-edge practices from Catalyst member organizations; and explore challenges faced by ERGs as well as solutions for overcoming them. Join our discussion to learn how your ERG can become more impactful and aligned with your business, and to share common ERG challenges and success factors.
This event is complimentary to employees from Catalyst member organizations. We invite ERG/network leaders, co-chairs, executive sponsors, diversity and inclusion professionals, and others with ERG responsibilities to attend this session. Content is applicable to all ERGs, including those focused on women, generations, visible minorities, people with disabilities, the Aboriginal community, the LGBT community, and other demographics.
