Unconscious bias exists in each person’s world view, affecting our behavior from the classroom to the workplace. We don’t necessarily feel it, but many of those around us do. As a result, unconscious bias creates barriers to inclusion, performance, engagement, and, ultimately, innovation. And while we cannot completely rid ourselves of unconscious bias, interrupting it is a skill that everyone can learn. To help your workplace address unconscious bias, Catalyst has built several engaging learning opportunities tailored to your needs. Unconscious Bias, Inclusion, and You, is a hands-on, skill-building, practical solution that will move participants from passive awareness to conscious action.

In this interactive session for executives, participants will learn how bias, which is embedded in human decision-making, can affect the business. Executives will train themselves to disrupt their default thinking by identifying when unconscious biases are affecting decisions and systems. As they build awareness, they will develop inclusive leadership skills to mitigate biases in themselves and others. Ultimately, these leaders will clearly understand the importance of their unique role in creating a culture of inclusion through actionable strategies that improve both innovation and team citizenship.
Senior Leaders, C-Suite, Executives. Up to 20 participants.
Live on-site in-person session.
Can be extended to include more organization-specific action-planning.
Managers and Contributors Workshop
In this interactive session, learners will examine their own assumptions and bias by identifying the in-groups and out-groups on their own teams and reflecting on the concepts of visibility, access, and equity. Next, they will be introduced to the concepts of "otherness" and microaggressions. To pull it all together, they will use group case studies to practice the skills to interrupt bias and create an inclusive workplace environment through research-based behaviors that drive inclusion.
Emerging Leaders, Managers, Line Leaders, Individual contributors. Up to 25 participants.
Live on-site in-person session.
Interactive Speaking Engagements and Webinars

Through both a presentation and participatory exercises, participants will:
- Reflect on the deeply embedded stereotyping or unconscious biases within all of us and how they impact the workplace.
- Learn the traits of an inclusive leader that lead to greater innovation and citizenship in employees.
