Women in Capital Markets
Since 2000, Women in Capital Markets (WCM) has commissioned a series of reports that tracks the number of women in the Investment Dealer and Retail Private Client lines of business of the Canadian Capital Markets industry. Studies have been conducted in 2000, 2002, 2005, 2008, and 2011. Reports from the series also profile senior women in the industry who share their challenges to advancement along with the personal and professional rewards of working in Capital Markets. Some reports also detail actions organizations can take to advance women in capital markets.
For each report, Catalyst collects data from several of Canada’s top financial institutions. For each line of business, data is gathered across three levels: Managing Director and above, Vice President, and Professional. Interviews and/or focus groups may also be conducted with women and men from each of the participating financial institutions.
