Impetus: Based on more than 30 years of research and hands-on work with corporations and professional firms, Catalyst believes that flexibility is a key component in women’s recruitment, retention, and advancement.


  • Researchers interviewed and held roundtable discussions with human resources representatives from 16 corporations and 15 professional firms with nationally recognized experience with workplace flexibility.

Findings: Catalyst creates a four-pronged approach to flexibility which consists of building organizational support, supporting managers and users, internalizing the practice, and sustaining the commitment.
