Communicating across differences is more important than ever before. Yet having conversations about gender, race, and ethnicity in the workplace can feel uncomfortable, accusatory, and potentially threatening.

To ensure successful and meaningful dialogue, we need to acknowledge and work through roadblocks (i.e. beliefs, attitudes, or experiences) that can stifle progress. As well, Catalyst research shows that visible minority employees pay an “Emotional Tax” that can deplete their sense of well-being and diminish their ability to contribute at work.

Learning how to surmount these obstacles takes practice, attention, and most importantly, intention.

We invite executives, HR leaders, diversity and inclusion practitioners, and champions of inclusion from other parts of your business to join this conversation. Please invite a visible minority colleague to join you. Registration is complimentary for Catalyst Supporter organizations. Each company may send up to four attendees. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended. If you are outside the Greater Toronto Area, a conference line will be set up for you to call in.
