Information Center Intern

Catalyst is seeking an MLIS student seeking credit for an unpaid internship in its dynamic Information Center (winner of the Special Libraries Association’s prestigious Centers of Excellence Award).

What is Catalyst?

Catalyst is the leading nonprofit organization with a mission to accelerate progress for women through workplace inclusion. We are dedicated to creating more inclusive workplaces where employees representing every dimension of diversity can thrive.  We act as a catalyst through our pioneering research, our tools and services, our events, and our Awards. Together, our offerings raise awareness of how diversity benefits today’s global businesses, and provide guidance on how to enact real change. We invite women, men, and organizations to join with us in building the inclusion that will make work, society, and lives change for the better.

What is the Schedule Like?

The length of the internship and weekly work schedule are flexible and dependent on school internship requirements. Interns may work from home flexibly for certain tasks.

What are the Requirements?

Interns are required to have a basic understanding of library functions and have taken at least one class in reference. Interns must be motivated, have strong research and writing skills, possess initiative and a sense of urgency, be technologically savvy, and be able to work independently on multiple projects. Though welcome, previous library work experience is not required and on-the-job training will be provided as part of the internship. This internship is open only to those MLIS students seeking credit for an internship.
