Makiko Ishizawa has been a librarian with the Catalyst Information Center since 2011. She answers reference questions from members, the media, academics, and the public. Ms. Ishizawa has authored China: The Legal Framework for Women and Work and other IC knowledge products, including Quick Takes. She is also a member of Catalyst’s Global Issue Specialty Team.
Ms. Ishizawa holds Master’s degrees in Library & Information Science and East Asian Languages & Cultures from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Prior to graduate school, Ms. Ishizawa held a Human Resources role at a university in Japan.
