Jan Combopiano is co-lead of Catalyst’s research program, responsible for overseeing the development of breakthrough research and insights that empower leaders and organizations to create inclusive workplaces. Additionally, Jan leads knowledge management efforts at Catalyst, leveraging resources and expertise to serve stakeholders, create publicly available content, preserve the organization's history, and maintain the knowledge infrastructure. She leads the applied side of Research, including tool development and action learning.
As head of the Information Center, she oversees the team that provides research, knowledge, and insights for Catalyst member organizations, the media, and scholars. She also leads Catalyst’s visualization efforts, overseeing the development of highly accessible content for use by Catalyst’s global audience. Jan's tenure and experience has built a deep and broad expertise, and a recent focus on women’s history, women in leadership, global trends, and organizational change. She has co-authored a history of women in the workplace,”Die Arbeitswelt muss sich verändern. Nicht die Frauen. 50 Jahre Gender Diversity in Forschung und Praxis,” and has has presented to corporate, nonprofit, and public audiences in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, and the United States.
Jan holds a bachelor’s degree in American History and a master’s degree in Women’s History from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She also holds a Master’s of Library Science from the State University of New York at Albany.
