Senior Director, Global Administration

Department: Finance/HR/Administration 
Reports To: CFO & Senior Vice President, Finance, HR & Administration

Responsibilities 

The Senior Director will be responsible for setting up operations in new geographies. She or he will also draft, review, analyze, and negotiate a variety of contracts and business-related documents and provide due diligence support for business development activities. The Senior Director will report to Catalyst's CFO. 

Functions 

  • Consult with regional experts to understand legal requirements for doing business in new countries, states, and provinces.
  • Assist in the creation of domestic and foreign entities to expand global reach.
  • Analyze and recommend the best courses of action for the organization.
  • Be part of a team that decides on the format of operations in new geographies.
  • Ensure that Catalyst maintains full legal compliance while optimizing business operations by keeping abreast of legal and other policy issues in territories where offices are located with the assistance/guidance of local attorneys and other experts.
  • Implement administrative rules and regulations within country business operations.
  • Draft, review, and analyze contracts and other business-related documents for approval of external attorneys.
  • Ensure consistency of business operational processes and procedures.
  • Remain current on rules and regulations affecting the organization and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Other projects as assigned. 

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Expert knowledge of contract law, including experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts. Familiarity with intellectual property law a plus.
  • Strong management abilities, including leadership orientation, project management and oversight, and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrate personal computer literacy in a networked Windows environment. Proficiency in word processing. Spreadsheet literacy required.
  • Meticulous eye for detail.
  • Ability to lead and participate in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communicator and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to leverage expert knowledge to persuade/influence superiors.
  • Flexible and adaptable to new opportunities; comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Capable of thinking strategically, including the ability to recognize and leverage opportunities for the organization.

Education and Experience 

The successful candidate will be a licensed attorney with at least seven years of private practice with significant background and experience in drafting and negotiating contracts. Experience implementing rules and regulations in regions outside of North America is useful.
