Senior Associate, Research (India)

Responsibilities
We are currently seeking an experienced researcher with an exceptional quantitative research background to be a member of teams conducting research and writing reports to assist organizations in addressing issues related to women’s career advancement and the creation of inclusive workplaces. Under the leadership of the Senior Vice President, Research, this position will work with the Senior Advisor, India, to develop regionally specific knowledge products, including management and supervision of small-sized projects or components of major projects. The Senior Associate will also serve as an issue specialist, disseminating expertise through written work, presentations, panels, and media interviews. The Senior Associate, Research, will work flexibly from a home office. This is a full-time position based in India.
Functions
Research Activities
- Manages projects; includes project planning and oversight, conceptualizing systems/processes/projects, and problem-solving.
- Develops qualitative research methods including interview and focus group protocols and other project materials.
- Participates in survey design.
- Analyzes and summarizes qualitative and quantitative research data.
- Organizes and helps conduct focus groups and interviews.
Knowledge Presentation
- Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of Catalyst member benefits, research, and services.
- Identify and develop the relevant content for member and prospect meetings using Catalyst research and other resources.
- Develop presentation materials for internal and external audiences.
- Present to clients, corporate audiences, and media on research findings and issue expertise.
- Present to internal audiences on research findings and issue expertise.
- Pursue speaking engagements to bring visibility to Catalyst.
Relationship Management
- Serve as key contact (“relationship manager”) to designated Catalyst member companies, maintaining regular contact with members regarding upcoming events/research, their needs and issues, communicating Catalyst benefits and following up on member requests.
- Support development and execution of regional events to convene members and prospects.
External Relationships
- Serve as point of contact for external contacts and audiences.
- May serve as contact for participating organizations while managing overall project administration.
- Respond to research and advisory requests from affiliates and non-affiliates.
- Participate in meetings with external stakeholders.
Departmental Activities
- Participate in developing, updating, and maintaining a knowledge base of corporate practices and current workplace demographics and trends.
- Develop and execute efficient processes for the accomplishment of assigned tasks, and share approach with others.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to apply creative problem-solving and analytical skills to research projects.
- Substantial experience with quantitative methodology, survey research and analytical skills in applied social research; considerable experience with analytical tools such as SPSS or other statistical packages.
- General knowledge and understanding of issues facing working women in India/Asia.
- Ability to play a leadership role in a highly team-oriented, virtual work environment.
- Ability to synthesize complex data and concepts and accurately interpret research findings.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and outstanding attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to function effectively both in a team-based environment and independently.
- Effective upward management, as well as between and across departments.
- Excellent computer literacy in a network environment with a Windows base. Proficiency in word processing and ability to use spreadsheet and statistical software. Database software literacy a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements
The position requires a M.A./M.S. (Ph.D. preferred). Four years or more of applied research and/or consulting experience is preferred.
