Interns (2): Fortune 500 Censuses

Responsibilities
The Research department seeks two interns to contribute to the 2010 Catalyst Census: Fortune 500 Women Board Directors and the 2010 Catalyst Census: Fortune 500 Women Executive Officers and Top Earners. These projects provide statistics to gauge women’s advancement into leadership at the largest companies in the United States. The interns will be involved in three research phases: data collection, data entry, and data cleaning. Census internships, based in New York, are temporary, paid positions of approximately 30 hours a week from mid-May through mid-August. Duties include the following:
- Gather information from publicly available sources.
- Enter data into proprietary database.
- Code data based on decision rules.
- Communicate with company contacts in a professional manner.
- Audit database information.
Knowledge/Skills
- Interest in Catalyst's mission/Research.
- Detail-oriented.
- Able to work collaboratively and independently.
- Able to meet deadlines.
- Quick learner.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program. Although we welcome applicants from all disciplines, the following academic majors are most relevant: business, economics, gender/women's studies, psychology, and sociology. Prior data entry and/or office experience is a plus.
