Interns (3): Financial Post 500 Census

Responsibilities
The Research department seeks three interns to contribute to the 2010 Catalyst Census: Financial Post 500 Women Officers and Top Earners. This report provides statistics to gauge women’s advancement into leadership at the largest companies in Canada. The interns will be involved in three research phases: data collection and entry, data verification, and data cleaning. Census internships, based in New York, are temporary, paid positions of approximately 30 hours a week from mid-May through mid-August. Duties include the following:
- Communicate with Canadian company contacts in a professional manner.
- Represent Catalyst to major Canadian companies.
- Enter data into, and maintain, database.
- Audit database.
- Collate and monitor mailings and responses.
- Research major Canadian companies.
Knowledge/Skills
- Interest in Catalyst’s mission/Research.
- Detail-oriented.
- Able to work collaboratively and independently.
- Able to meet deadlines.
- Quick learner.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program. Although we welcome applicants from all disciplines, the following academic majors are most relevant: business, economics, gender/women's studies, psychology, and sociology. Prior data entry/office experience is a plus, as is a working knowledge of French.
