Mary N. Boughton manages Catalyst’s Western Region office in Sunnyvale, California, and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to build the organization’s presence in California, Texas, Washington, Oregon, and other Western states. She recruits, develops, and supports Catalyst member organizations in the area by making them aware of Catalyst resources, such as the information available to members on the Catalyst website, and by organizing and conducting events on topics related to Catalyst research, such as women in leadership, women’s contributions to corporate financial performance, workplace challenges for women of color, and work-life effectiveness.
Ms. Boughton spent 14 years in sales at the former CompuServe Network Services, Inc. (now part of Verizon), rising from Account Representative to Area Manager for the Western Region of the United States. She then joined the consultancy, Accenture, where she focused on researching and presenting opportunities for new client engagements. In 2002, Ms. Boughton elected to bring her passion, corporate experience, and business skills to nonprofit management. Prior to joining Catalyst in 2008, she served as Executive Director for Career Closet in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, an organization that assists women returning to the workforce, and for the former Peninsula Habitat for Humanity (now Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco), an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Ms. Boughton holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Santa Clara University.
