Sylvia Apostolidis draws on Catalyst’s extensive knowledge and experience to help companies attract, retain, and advance women. Having managed Research and Advisory Services projects, Ms. Apostolidis evaluates corporate culture and creates implementation strategies for companies to more effectively build inclusive environments for women. She also actively supports Catalyst member organizations, educational institutions, and community organizations through speaking engagements, the facilitation of events, and the sharing of knowledge.

Ms. Apostolidis began her career as an entrepreneur. As co-owner of a Canadian business in the coin-operated games industry, she brought the company to a market leadership position prior to selling it to pursue an interest in women’s studies and survey methodology. She has worked in several capacities at Statistics Canada, a federal agency that produces statistics on Canada. She has had significant business experience across industries, including managing a growing healthcare business, recruiting talent for an executive search firm, and marketing to new market segments for one of Canada’s major professional services firms.

Ms. Apostolidis holds an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business, an M.S. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a B.A. in Sociology from The University of British Columbia.
