Sylvia Apostolidis is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to build Catalyst’s presence and membership base in Canada. She conducts speaking engagements at Catalyst member organizations, educational institutions, and community organizations. As a member of the Catalyst Advisory Services team, she provides consultative support to members to create business-driven diversity and inclusion strategies. Since joining Catalyst in 2005, Ms. Apostolidis has led several Research and Advisory Services projects including authoring Catalyst’s Reports to Women in Capital Markets: Benchmarking 2005 & 2008. She led the launch of Catalyst Canada’s signature event, The Catalyst Canada Honours.

Ms. Apostolidis began her career as an entrepreneur. As co-owner of a Canadian business in the coin-operated games industry, she brought the company to a market leadership position prior to selling it to pursue an interest in women’s studies and survey methodology. She has business experience across industries and functional areas and has worked in several capacities at Statistics Canada, and in the human resources, marketing, and business development fields.

Ms. Apostolidis holds an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business, an M.S. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a B.A. in Sociology from The University of British Columbia.
