Cigna’s ability to succeed and grow in a global context is paramount. Senior leaders within the organization, however, found themselves faced with a paradox: “We need to grow our globally competent leaders as quickly as we’re growing our global business.” Confronting this challenge, Cigna decided to focus its attention internally, committing to developing globally competent leaders from among its own team. A major way this is achieved is through experiential learning, specifically through two key programs: Market Journeys and the Cultural Agility Leadership Lab.
