The value and benefit of a diverse workforce has been proven time and time again. The question is no longer should we have a diverse workforce, it is how to benefit from a diverse workforce. The way BlessingWhite and Catalyst think about diversity is in visible and invisible ways; in the form of things you can see like gender, race, ethnicity, age, etc., and also in the form of things you can’t necessarily see like communication style, introversion or extroversion, sexual orientation, life experiences, religion, work history, international exposure, and more. A diverse workforce is among us, regardless of what we look like. So how do we recognize that diversity, and use it as a competitive advantage?
Catalyst has done extensive research in the field of diversity and inclusion, and has identified four competencies of an inclusive leader: empowerment, accountability, courage, and humility. We refer to this as The EACH Mindset.
