As We C It

Behind Every Great Woman…is a Great Man

This month in Catalyzing, Ilene featured the voices of Catalystos—men who are not afraid to stand up against gender inequity. “The experience my mother went through in the corporate world,” wrote one, “[led to the] development of a real sense of social justice and a drive to fight for equality.” Ilene also took on misleading press coverage surrounding a study finding that single, childless women aged 22 to 30 earn more than their male counterparts in select U.S. cities. “A lot of the recent pay gap coverage overstates the facts and does not take into account all the nuances of the data. Context is king. Don’t lose sight of…what still needs to be fixed.”

Dreaming of Fair Pay

In CanCon, Deborah Gillis, Vice President, North America, wonders what happened to the dream that educational opportunities would eliminate the gender-wage gap in Canada—and who loses when businesses don’t make the best use of all their talent.

Lengthen your Language Stride

The upcoming issue of Catalyst Europe CORE will tackle one of the trickiest yet most vital parts of effecting change: how to communicate it. For more on the perils and pleasures of D&I corporate speak—and other language that may miss the mark—we encourage you to check out Issue 4 on October 15th.
