Recapping the 2010 Catalyst Awards Events
More than 1,500 business leaders, including 70 CEOs, gathered at The Waldorf=Astoria in New York on March 24, 2010, as Catalyst celebrated this year’s four Award-winning initiatives at our Awards Dinner. The initiatives were presented that same day at the Awards Conference. Learn how to apply for the Catalyst Award in 2011. Webinars scheduled for April 20, 2010, will provide further guidance.
Saluting Our Sponsors
Catalyst thanks The Coca-Cola Company and Walmart for sponsoring the 2010 Awards Conference. We thank PepsiCo, Inc. and Shell Oil Company for sponsoring the 2010 Awards Dinner, and Jim Skinner, Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s Corporation, for serving as Dinner Chair.
Catalyst Reports Garner Press Attention
New research from Catalyst—on the paucity of women on Canadian boards and the fact that women MBAs trail men MBAs in pay and advancement—made news in several prestigious media outlets, among them The Wall Street Journal, The Harvard Business Review, The Globe and Mail, and Forbes.
Connect With Catalyst Canada
Catalyst Canada continues its Catalyst Connects events in which high-potential women from Catalyst member organizations in North America are paired with speakers considered role models in their fields. Mark your calendars for April 29, 2010, in Calgary.
Switzerland Takes on Equal Pay
On March 11, 2010, Catalyst Europe presented on Catalyst research tying women in leadership to financial performance at an event hosted by Rezonance in honor of Switzerland’s Equal Pay Day and held in Geneva.
Reaching Middle Managers
Join Catalyst Europe General Manager Eleanor Tabi Haller-Jorden and Pamela Hutchinson, Director, Human Resources, Deutsche Bank, for a webinar exploring how engaging with middle management can make or break efforts to create an inclusive culture. The event will take place on April 20, 2010, at 16:00 CET/15:00 GMT/10:00 EST. Inquiries may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What Have We Learned?
Anika K. Warren, Ph.D., Senior Director, Research, will draw from her research in a presentation at The Face of Business Today conference on April 27, 2010. Her talk concerns the importance of gender considerations on talent management. Register online at The Conference Board’s website.
As We C It
In Catalyzing, Ilene blogged about her chat with Xerox Chairman Anne M. Mulcahy during the Awards Conference luncheon and made an exciting announcement on April Fool’s Day. “Catalyst has accomplished its goal of total gender parity and will shut its doors,” she mused, inviting readers to sign up for special post-parity workshops and to check out the “Catalyst Square.” We can dream, can’t we?
