Catalyst.org Gets a New Look for 2013 and Beyond

On December 5, Catalyst unveiled our new website, catalyst.org. Built with community in mind, the new site puts the information and strategy in your hands, while allowing you, and others you inspire, to change workplaces and change lives.

The elegant and colorful new look and feel gives you the knowledge and community connections that you need―with ease. We are also excited to unveil the new, unified Catalyzing blog, which brings together and amplifies diverse voices that share in Catalyst’s mission to expand opportunities for women and business. Australia Still Lags in Women Leaders

The 2012 Australian Census of Women in Leadership report was just published by the Equal Opportunity Workplace Agency (EOWA) in association with Catalyst. It finds that women hold 12.3% of directorships in the ASX 200 but only 9.2% in the ASX 500, that 9.2% of executives in the ASX 500 are women, and that only 12 ASX 500 companies have female CEOs. Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012

The Australian Government has enacted a new Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 (WGE Act) to promote and improve gender equality in the workplace for women and men with a specific focus on equal pay and gender equality indicators of success. Under the new legislation, the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency will be renamed the Workplace Gender Equality Agency. For more details, visit www.wgea.gov.au.
